The panel will be moderated by Elvis Mitchell.Friday July 19, 2013 2:50pm – 3:45pm
Access Hollywood revealed that HBO greenlit the series for a third season, much to the delight of all GoT fans.
“Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss raised our expectations for the second season – and then surpassed them,” HBO President of Programming Michael Lombardo said in a release. “We are thrilled by all the viewer and media support we’ve received for the series, and can’t wait to see what Dan and David have in store for next season.”
It was also confirmed by George R.R. Martin himself that he will be pen the 7th episode of Season 3!
On Tuesday afternoon, Martin noted on his “Not A Blog” that Season 3 would be based on “the first half or thereabouts” of his book, “A Storm of Swords.” He also noted he would be writing the seventh episode of Season 3, tentatively titled “Autumn Storms.”
Obviously the success of the show comes down to staying true to the source material and giving the producers enough leeway (and money) to produce the show how it’s envisioned in the books, from the costumes to the design to the locations. This is a truly epic series, and hopefully HBO can allow it to continue for more seasons in the years to come.
